Making a Difference

As you go though your daily life, you have to weigh the cost of participating in yet another group or club.  With the men of the Knights of Columbus, this is seldom an issue.  For us, it is not about us.  Our brother knights are very concerned about family, life, and our church community.  We are about making a difference--not in our lives, but in the lives of our fellow man.  Be it helping our parish with hosting an event or working in the local community, we are ready.  We like to think that our time here on earth will mean something to others, because we are active and helping make a difference.  How about you?

Here are a few of the things we are busy with this year.  Just select from the list on the left or one of our featured stories below. You can help us in our quest.  If you are not a member, we have a job for you, too.

Building Church
We all remember the festvals, carnivals and the like from our childhood.  They gave us many great memories, but they were all church community building events.  The knights sponsor an Annual Oktoberfest.  It takes a lot of work, but it is fun and our second year was bigger than the first.  We are planning many other like events.  We are church builders.

Community Celebrations
We wave the flag wherever we can.  Our ministry as Catholics is to let the community know about what we are about.  There are many prejudices about things we do not understand.  We help counter that by participating in community events.  We work with the Meals for Millions program, raise funds to send our Wounded Warriors home to be with their families, and march in parades Christmas paraides in Graham, Burlington, and the biggest little Fourth of July parade in Caldwell.
