Oktoberfest in Chapel Hill is on Friday, September 27, 2013. The festivities are from 6:00 p.m. to 10 p.m. in the St. Thomas More Catholic Church Family and Friends Hall.
You will find a consistent theme throughout our Council Programs and Projects. We are about building family and church. Our mission is to serve God by doing the right things while we are here on earth. We are not couch potatoes. There are things we need to do to make things better around us.
Oktoberfest is one of these projects. It’s a party for the parish! Wait, wait! A party? Yes a party. And, it is a family oriented heritage event. It is for those of us who have a little German in us and for those who just enjoy good music, dancing, and a whimsical time with friends.
We serve sausage, sauerkraut, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages. One price pays for entertainment by the Little German Band and Dancers plus food and beverages. Save money on a baby sitter by including your kids in this family event.
The Knights started this many years ago in 2007. It started as a gift to the church by Past Grand Knight John Felten. John wanted to have more family events and knew the Knights had the manpower and the desire to make it a reality. We have held Oktoberfests each year since.
How about you? Do you have Lederhosen in your closet? Got a feather in your cap? How about a Bavarian Beer Stein? You don’t have to go to Busch Gardens for a little Oopha Loopha music. We’ll bring it to you!
If this sounds like a project that interests you, see John Felten, The Catholic Daughters, or the Grand Knight. You can join this committee and help put together this year’s September family event–Oktoberfest!
